Image Uploads for bbPress
Recently one of our customers that uses bbPress to drive his forums approached us with a unique request: He wanted to let people upload images with their posts. But, as you might know, there is no such feature in bbPress nor is there any plugin that will allow that to occur. So we created a set of plugins that introduces that functionality.
With the plugins our customer can now let people upload images, and the site administrator can control maximum image size as well as the allowed image formats. Furthermore, the plugin creates up to 2 thumbnails for each images (at whatever dimensions specified) and can also automatically insert a watermark into all uploaded images.
We also created code that tracks the number of times an image is viewed and also lets people rate images (by clicking stars) as well as sort images by various criteria including most recent, most popular, least popular, most viewed, and most commented.
Overall it was a really fun project and our customer is extremely happy with the results!
